Are you maybe feeling stressed or exhausted, even overwhelmed by all of life’s demands? On this retreat you can give yourself the opportunity to rest and recover in the midst of compassion, surrounded by the beauty of Lapland’s nature. At the same time, you will experience the power of shared humanity as we create a safe and compassionate atmosphere where we can feel heard and accepted. In this retreat, you don’t have to be alone with your emotions and thoughts; instead, they can be shared safely in therapeutic group work, while learning important skills to cope with the challenges of the human mind and life.
The modern world places immense demands on us, leading to increasing exhaustion. Waiting for these demands to end is useless, so we must step into the role of a wise and compassionate “defense attorney” in our own lives. This means strengthening the compassionate and friendly side within us, so that we always have a wise friend with us who can see our suffering and help us with life’s challenges, take care of our well-being, and set wise boundaries against the overwhelming demands.
Research shows that self-compassion is a crucial ability for our mental well-being and resilience. It may also enhance our life satisfaction and sense of social connectedness. Self-compassion can improve our ability to face challenges without being discouraged. It really makes a difference how you treat yourself. Often, we are more compassionate towards others and have much more critical and unkind thoughts towards ourselves. However, self-compassion is a skill that can be strengthened and learned. It can be consciously practiced and incorporated into our daily lives, providing us with a protective armor amidst life’s challenges.
This retreat offers an exclusive experience for a small group of only 8 participants, held in this wonderful log villa Uuvana amidst beautiful nature. Each participant will have their own room with a private bathroom. The price also includes meals, with breakfast and dinner enjoyed at the villa and lunch at a nearby restaurant at the top of Kaunispää, a 10-minute walk away. Throughout the day, coffee, tea, and fruits will be available.
The program also includes quiet time for rest, nature walks, sauna, and enjoying the hot tub. The group therapeutic process progresses at the group’s pace without strict goals or demands, guided by the principles of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). This retreat is not a completely silent retreat, but to give ourselves freedom from social pressures, we aim to quiet down and consciously reduce unnecessary conversation as the evening approaches. This way, we can better focus on our inner experiences without the pressure of fulfilling social norms.
Your retreat is organized and led by Dr. Heli Mähönen, who is also a licensed psychotherapist and mindfulness instructor with extensive international training in hypnotherapy. You can meet her in advance via a free 20-minute online initial meeting, where you can together assess the suitability of the retreat for you.

Exclusive retreat price for 4 nights’ accommodation and meals is 2900€ (incl. VAT)

Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation Policy:
- More than 30 days prior to the retreat: Full refund
- 15-30 days prior to the retreat: 50% refund.
- Less than 15 days prior to the retreat: No refund.
- Transfer of Booking:
- Participants may transfer their booking to another person with prior written consent from the retreat organizer, provided the transfer is requested at least 14 days before the retreat start date.
- Retreat Cancellation:
- If the retreat is cancelled by the organizers due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund. The organizers are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants (e.g., travel expenses)
